Joining Twin State’s Networking team in April 2025, Alec Barnas brings specialized expertise in network management to his role as Network Engineer II. After beginning his career in help desk support, Alec transitioned to Network Administrator at Agrisolutions in Rock Island, moving to the Quad Cities from Michigan.
Armed with certifications as a Sophos Certified Engineer and Sophos Firewall Certified professional, Alec excels with Sophos Firewalls, Ubiquiti Equipment, Nable N-Central, and Microsoft 365 Administration. His technical skills enable him to optimize client environments with precision and expertise.
When he’s not enhancing network systems, Alec juggles a full life with his wife, two children, and three cats. In his rare moments of free time, he pursues diverse interests including disc golf, hockey, automobiles, piano, grilling, and both playing and developing video games – always eager to learn and experience as much as possible.
