Gia Lewis-Smallwood

Gia joined Twin State in April 2023.  She graduated from University of Illinois – Urbana-Champaign with degrees in Political Science, Economics and Spanish.  She also completed a Computer Science degree at Western Governors University and plans to finish her Masters of Data Analytics in May 2024.

Prior to joining Twin State, Gia was a professional athlete.  She is a 2012 Olympian, 4-time USA champion and 4-time world championship team member as well as a former American record holder in Women’s discus and 2020 University of Illinois Athletic Hall of Fame Member.

In her free time, Gia enjoys reading, listening to podcasts, playing with her dog, and throwing the discus.
