Laurie Boyce-Steinhauser joined Twin State in 2019 after more than three decades employed in the field of education and working as a free-lance writer and editor. Most recently, she completed ten years of working with special needs preschoolers – so she hopes the work at Twin State will be less physical! In the past, Laurie has also worked for Arthur Andersen & Co. and the Archdiocese of Chicago. She has a B.A. in Education from Northeastern Illinois University.
Laurie and her family moved from Chicago 23 years ago and now call the Quad Cities home. In her free time, she volunteers at the child welfare agency, Bethany for Children & Families. Since most of their children are on their own, Laurie and her husband, Bill, have enjoyed exploring and hiking in the National and State Parks of the U.S.
