We worry about your Digital Accessibility so you don’t have to.

Around 56.7 million Americans currently live with some form of disability. This number continues to increase as the population ages. It is expected that by 2060, the number of Americans living with disabilities will double to nearly 90 million. Those with vision, hearing, or physical disabilities are expected to make up around 20 percent of the population. These individuals can experience significant challenges when it comes to accessing websites, as well as applications and online documents.

ADA Compliance for Educational Institutions

Everyone has the right to learn. Having accessible school systems allows all students an equal chance to succeed. When school systems are accessible, it helps students continue their journey in education.

Why is being ADA Compliant important in Educational Institutions for those with disabilities?

  • If your computer systems do not allow accessories to be plugged in, then students who are blind cannot connect their Braille keypad.
  • If the school sends out an email to parents with a link to sign their children up for the next field trip, but the form cannot be filled out using voice-recognition software, then a parent who utilizes this software can’t fill out the form for their children.

The Law: The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
First passed: 1990.
Last refreshed: 2008.
Requires: Schools must provide accommodations for students with disabilities.
Applies to:

  • Public K-12 schools (Title II).
  • Private K-12 schools (Title III).
  • Private & public colleges and universities (Title III).
